Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa (70 Km – 1.5 Hours)
Climb the 5th century Rock Fortress of Sigiriya famed for its beautiful frescoes and water fountains
Visit Polonnaruwa, the second capital, from the 10th to 12th century AD. See the ruins of the Royal Palace, Gal Vihara (three splendid statues of Buddha in upright, sedentary and recumbent postures carved out of one rock).

Sigiriya – Kandy (110 Km – 3.5 Hours)
